HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY MEDLEY

On our 25th anniversary in 2010, I made a piano album dedicated to Barbara, featuring 50 of her favorite songs on two CD discs. Most of them dated from the ‘60s and ‘70s, and although my natural musical habitat are songs from the ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s, and these later decades present a different feel and rhythm pattern, I try to play them in the spirit in which they were conceived by the Beatles, Paul Simon, James Taylor, and so on.

For our 40th anniversary, I’ve prepared a 40-minute medley of 15 such tunes that are Barbara’s special favorites. They are in order.

  •       Just the Way You Are

  •       Wasted on the Way

  •       Carolina On My Mind

  •       Blackbird

  •       If Ever I Would Leave You

  •       So Near and Yet so Far

  •       Diamonds and Rust

  •       Blackberry Winter

  •       Perhaps Love

  •       Bridge Over Troubled Water

  •       New York State of Mind

  •       Rainbow Connection

  •       Tenderly

  •       Tomorrow

  •       Two for the Road
