NYC Winter 2020 - 2021

A vivid January sky over Manhattan, punctuated by those new slender skyscrapers (taken from our terrace).

Here's a December urban landscape before the snowstorm (also taken from our terrace).

The same view, in black & white.

Here comes the snow.

No outdoor cocktail hour today.

The view down 3rd Avenue (from 79th Street) during the storm.

The view up 3rd Avenue (from 79th Street).

Looking down to the street.

The streets can be plowed, but the cars require more personal attention.

. . . And speaking of plows . . .

A stranded mother and child.

The scene now shifts to Central Park after a snowstorm. (The first three pictures were taken from a middle floor of a Fifth Avenue apartment building.)

The snow-clad World War I warriors on Fifth Avenue.

The rest of these NYC photos were taken in February inside the southeast corner of Central Park after the most recent storm.

The backdrop here is the skyline of 59th Street. As for the foreground tableau . . . .

. . . here's a close-up view.

Old man with a horn . . . .

This little fellow held still for me just long enough for an up-close snap.

These are some of the ducks . . .

. . . in their lovely setting adjacent to the venerable footbridge.

Here are two other views of that bridge.

That's General Sherman, his steed, and an angel, just outside the Park's southeast corner.

I’ve included a half-dozen black and white shots of the Park – complete with skyline, water, ducks, a squirrel, and an apparently displeased carriage horse.
