FALL SONGS
As we near the end of Fall, it’s time to celebrate the season in song. I’ve selected seven excellent popular songs affiliated with that annual period from Labor Day to Thanksgiving – songs I’ve recorded both this year, last year, and during some prior years.
Four of them have “Autumn” in their title, three have the word “September”. Some are at a slow tempo, some medium, and one up-tempo. On three I’m playing piano alone; on two I’m singing with my favorite vocalist, Annette Sanders; on one I’m singing and playing with the original Jim Freund Trip, featuring Andrei Ryabov on guitar and Dmitri Kolesnik on bass; and on one it’s me and Dmitri.
The songs are, in the order of their presentation:
Autumn in New York
September Song
‘Tis Autumn
September in the Rain
Autumn Leaves
September of My Years
Autumn Nocturne
