Seven Piano Ballads
The year-end packet I sent out this past December contained – in addition to a variety of other items – a new CD album entitled Ballads Galore. The bulk of the CD was devoted to a variety of fine standards sung by my favorite vocalist, Annette Sanders, with my piano accompaniment. Great stuff – and if you didn’t receive the packet, let me know, and I’ll send you one.
Seven of the album’s tracks, however, consisted of my piano solo renditions of some wonderful songs by superb composers such as Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers and Jimmy Van Heusen. I’ve decided to combine these seven as the musical segment of this month’s blog offerings.
The songs (in order performed) are:
1. I’ll be Seeing You
2. The Way You Look Tonight
3. Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?
4. What’s New?
5. Nancy (with the laughing face)
6. Fools Rush In
7. Little Girl Blue
I hope you’ll enjoy this 15-minute musical trip back to those melodic days of the ’30s and ‘40s. You can access it by clicking on the play button below.
Additional information on the seven songs is contained in a PDF, which you can access (before, after or while listening to the songs) by clicking on this link.
